The PEiR Committee works in partnership with the BC SUPPORT Unit Interior Centre to promote, assist, and advance meaningful patient-oriented research (POR) within the Interior region. Together, we aim to improve health services and the well-being of individuals and communities across the Interior region by centering lived experience in research.
As a PEiR Committee member, you will: • Contribute your lived or living experience with health issues, caregiving, or using health services. • Attend and actively participate in monthly 1hr virtual meetings. • Read background materials and prepare for discussions. • Collaborate with patient-partners, researchers, health staff, and other interest-holders. • Help set research priorities, identify gaps, co-create solutions, and promote patient engagement in your community. You will also: • Receive orientation and ongoing mentorship. • Be offered annual honorarium to recognize time and commitment. • Have travel and accommodation expenses reimbursed (if applicable).
