Study on Women's Healthy Aging

Sexual Health, HIV, Aging, Other Women’s Health, Patient-initiated research
The goal of this study is to better understand the complex interplay between the cellular, clinical, and social factors involved in women’s healthy aging, such as viral infections (HIV, hepatitis C, and herpes), hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and cortisol), multiple chronic diagnoses, and personal life experiences, including adverse childhood experiences, sexual health, stigma, violence, and resilience.
Two study visits: 1) Clinical visit - in person. Includes measuring height, weight, & blood pressure; a blood sample, mouth swab, urine sample, hair sample (for stress test), & an optional rectal swab (for microbiome test); a survey on demographics, medical history, reproductive health, & substance use history. 2) Community visit - online or over the phone. Includes a second survey on social support, sleep, violence, wellbeing, resilience, etc.
