Can HIIT Training reduce risk for Dementia?

The primary goal of the study is to assess the impact of a 12-week high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program, a popular form of aerobic training, on cognitive function and brain health in perimenopausal individuals.
The study will include 12 weeks of HIIT on the treadmill with group classes held at Vancouver General Hospital 3 times a week (Mon, Wed and Fri) for 1 hour each. It is mandatory that you complete a 1 hour PET/MRI scan at the beginning and end of the study. We will measure your cognitive abilities, including your memory and processing speed. Additionally, we will measure your height, weight, blood pressure, arterial stiffness, and VO2 max.
