Study Purpose

The goal of this study is to compare muscle structure, muscle composition, strength and leg function of people who experienced an anterior cruciate ligament tear with uninjured controls.

Details

Participants will do a 15-min eligibility interview (phone or Zoom). Then they will complete an online questionnaire (15 min) about their exercise habits. Third, they will come to UBC-Vancouver to assess the strength and power of their knee & ankle muscles. And last, they will come to UBC-Vancouver campus again (at least 7-days after the first visit) for a body composition scan and muscle biopsies (one on each quadricep muscle [front of thigh]).
