Research Study
Does health coaching or health education improve physical activity and mobility?
Currently Recruiting
Exercise and Physical Fitness, Other General Health , Mobility, Other Older Adults
To investigate the effects of six months of one-on-one health coaching or group health education sessions on physical activity and mobility in older adults experiencing some challenges with their mobility.
First, a research assistant will contact you for a 15-minute telephone call to ask some eligibility questions. If eligible after the telephone call, we will schedule an in-person screening session. There are 4 measurement sessions at the beginning, 13 weeks, 26 weeks, and 52 weeks at the Vancouver General Hospital Research Pavilion. These sessions measure memory and thinking abilities, mobility, and questionnaires. After the baseline measurement session, participants are randomly assigned to an individual health coaching or group health education program. There are nine sessions across 6 months. Contact Victoria Cirone at 604-875-4111 ext. 69313 if you have questions about the study.
