Seeking healthy adults for a cardiac research study

Currently Recruiting

Health Areas

Study Purpose

This study will evaluate a new high-sensitivity Troponin I (hs-TnI) test to help detect heart attacks. Troponin I is a heart protein released into the blood when the heart is damaged. Blood samples from healthy volunteers will be tested with Response Biomedical’s investigational RAMP hs-TnI assay. The result will help establish normal range of the assay and support the submission for Health Canada approval for its use and marketing in Canada.

Details

You will be asked to visit a designated location for a blood draw. A member of the study team will review the consent form with you and answer any questions you may have. Once you have signed the consent form, a trained phlebotomist will collect two 4 mL tubes of blood (about two teaspoons). After the blood draw, you may be asked to remain on-site for a few minutes to ensure you are feeling well before leaving. Your blood sample will then be tested using the RAMP hs-TnI test by an operator trained on the study procedure. After testing, your sample may be stored on-site for up to five years after the study ends.
